Speaking with shadows

Of flesh and blood

Of truths and falsehoods

Of dreams and desires

Of past and present

And an uncertain future

I am amazed

At such clairvoyance

Even when noises

Try to drown them 

In a pool of madness

And sensibilities

Silences......

Abounding in familiar

And unfamiliar corners

Of heart and mind

Oscillating like a pendulum

Between real and unreal

Preventing disintegration and collapse

Holding a flickering candle

On cold dark nights

They lead me to an island

Growing in the midst of

A sea of emptiness

The island of hope
