Flutter around

This winter morning

I saw white flowers

in my pot

turning pink

and I remembered how

a few winters ago.

स्मारक

लपाभो गैस त्रासदी से पीड़ित लोगों के जीवन से सभी समस्याएं दूर करने का राम-बाण तरीका दूंढ़ निकाला गया है. करोड़ों की लागत से एक लम्बी सी स्मारक बना दी गयी. प्रदेश के हुक्मरानों का दावा था की इस स्मारक के बनते ही सारी समस्या एक ही झटके में सुलझ जाएगी. पीड़ितों को मुआवजा मिल जायेगा, बीमार लोग चंगे हो जायेंगे और दोषियों को सजा भी मिल जाएगी. ऐसा राम-बाण इलाज, वो भी चंद करोड़ों में. प्रपोजल पास हो गया. एक चीनी कंपनी ने टेंडर जीता. कुछ ही महीनों में स्मारक तैयार था. बादशाह सलामत फीता काटने आये. लेकिन तभी स्मारक के उपर की एक ईंट टूट कर गिर गयी. एक अजीब सी गंध चारों तरफ फ़ैल गई- जिन्दा इन्सान के जलते गोश्त की गंध.

झंडा

अबराकाडबरा नाम के एक पुराने देश की बात है. वहां एक गरीब राज्य है जिसको डीकू अभी भी लूट रहे हैं. वहां की राजधानी की एक पहाड़ी पर उस समय तक का सबसे ऊँचा झंडा लहराया गया. उस झंडे को कई सौ किलोमीटर दूर से ही देखा जा सकता था, जैसी की चीन की दीवार को चाँद पर से भी देखा जा सकता है.

जैसे ही झंडे को लहराया गया, उस राज्य में एक अनोखी बात हुई. सभी आदिवासियों के पेट भर गए. लड़कियों की खरीद फ़रोख्त बंद हो गई. राज्य की खनिज-सम्पदा का उपयोग वहां के लोगों की जिन्दगियों को सवारने में किया जाने लगा. डीकू की तानाशाशी अब इतिहास की बात थी.

128 किलोमीटर दूर गाडेमसी जिले की उस लड़की ने भी झंडे को देखा. झंडे को देखते ही बिना आधार कार्ड के ही उसकी भूख हमेशा के लिए शांत हो गयी.
